HP Families Weekly Bulletin - Friday 13th February 2026
In this bulletin: we celebrate record breaking A Level results, success at the Regional Air Squadron Trophy, and a Year 7 trip to Bristol, alongside updates on Year 11 progress, half term homework schedules, technical email changes, asthma protocols, and our latest student newspaper.
Dear HP families,
Update From The Headteacher, Mr Hudson
Yesterday saw the release of the latest Department for Education (DfE) Key Stage 5 Accountability Measure. I am pleased to confirm that 2025 was the most successful A Level year for HP to date. Our students made progress well above the national average, with one in two grades achieving an A* to B. Further details are available on our website at https://www.hphigh.co.uk/hpnews/general-letters/holmleigh-park-celebrates-best-ever-year-for-a-level-success.
Our CCF Cadets recently competed in the Regional Air Squadron Trophy. Despite being the newest and youngest of the 42 RAF CCF squadrons in the South West, the team has trained rigorously since November. Competing in shooting, leadership, first aid, space, cyber skills, and drill, our cadets placed tenth overall. This is an outstanding achievement, particularly as they outperformed several prestigious private schools.
This week, every Year 7 student had the opportunity to visit We The Curious in Bristol free of charge. We are passionate about providing extracurricular opportunities at no cost to families, and this is a great example of our intention in action. As a premier science and arts centre featuring over 200 interactive exhibits and the UK’s first 3D Planetarium, it provided a fantastic experience for our students. I would like to thank the staff who facilitated this successful trip.
Finally, thank you for the strong attendance at the Year 11 Parents Evening. As the summer exams approach, a robust home and school partnership is essential to ensure our young people achieve their best and keep their future opportunities broad.
KS3 Homework KS3 Homework will pause over half term. While currently set work remains due as usual, no new tasks will be issued during the break. Please ensure students complete homework due by the end of this week to avoid prep sessions after half term. TTRS was due this morning, English must be finished by the end of the weekend, and Year 8 and 9 Kay Science is due the first Wednesday back. Please contact k.barrett@hphigh.co.uk with any queries.
Emails sent from HP To resolve recent delivery issues with Bromcom, our IT team has updated our email configuration. We are now using the Bromcom internal email service. While the display name remains Holmleigh Park High, the sending address has changed from noreply-bromcom@hphigh.co.uk to 14070@bromcomcloud.com. Please direct any questions to a.guennec@hphigh.co.uk.
Asthma If your child has asthma and you are unsure if HP is aware, please update the medical conditions section of their MCAS profile or email mi@hphigh.co.uk. Students must carry their inhaler at all times. We also encourage parents to provide a spare inhaler for the medical room. While we hold a blue inhaler for emergencies, it is not for general use.
Student Newspaper We are delighted to release the third edition of our student newspaper. Our enrichment group has produced a range of interviews and features reflecting our community. You can read the latest and previous editions at https://www.hphigh.co.uk/character-programme/student-newspaper.
I wish you all a lovely weekend,
Mr Hudson
