Holmleigh Park Celebrates Best-Ever Year for A Level Success

Holmleigh Park High School is celebrating its most successful A Level year to date, following the release of the latest Department for Education (DfE) Key Stage 5 Accountability Measures. The data confirms a significant upward trajectory for the school, with student progress and attainment reaching historic highs.

The newly released figures highlight a A Level Progress Score of 0.1. In the context of national accountability measures, this score indicates that Holmleigh Park students make significantly more progress across their Key Stage 5 journey than expected based on their GCSE starting points. This "value-added" performance reflects the school’s commitment to ensuring every student, regardless of their background, exceeds their potential.

The 2025 results also represent the school’s strongest-ever year for attainment. In a landmark achievement, one in every two A Level grades awarded was an A*, A, or B. This represents a sustained improvement in outcomes, placing Holmleigh Park’s Sixth Form as a premier destination for academic study in Gloucestershire and ensuring students are well-equipped for top-tier universities and competitive career paths.

Catherine Marsden-Green, Head of Sixth Form, commented:

"I am incredibly proud of our students and staff. These results are a testament to the culture of ambition and hard work we’ve built here. Reaching the point where half of all A Level grades are A*-B is a fantastic milestone, but seeing the progress score reach 0.1 is what matters. It proves that if you come to HP and put in the work, you will achieve more than you ever thought possible."

Dan Hudson, Headteacher, added:

"These figures represent our best-ever year for attainment, but more importantly, they reflect the dedication of our entire school community. A progress score of 0.1 demonstrates that we are providing genuine value to our students' futures. It shows our determination and commitment to deliver excellence and empower our students to outperform national expectations."
