Holmleigh Park High School

Letter from the Head, Friday 7th May 2021

In this episode: Our library goes online, Year 11/13 keep smashing their assessments, and Year 10 Information Evening

Dear all,

Despite the four day week, we've been very busy here. For the second time, our main focus has been on Year 11 and 13 assessments. Talking to students after exams, it sounds like they've done just brilliantly. We're all incredibly proud at how hard they've worked, and how seriously they've taken their assessments. They now go into their final three week cycle, with two more weeks of teaching before their final round of assessments before breaking up. If you're a Year 11/13 parent and haven't already read my letter regarding the end of term, please do so here

I'm also incredibly excited to share with you that our library has now moved online! Students just need to go to the library section of our website, and click on the link to "ACCESS THE LIBRARY ONLINE." They can then login using their normal HP username and password, and browse through our catalogue of books. Once they've made a selection, they just need to click "Reserve" and their book will be delivered to them in Tutor Time the next day! A huge thank you to Mrs Lockett for working incredibly hard to make all of this possible!

Finally, with Year 11 coming towards the end of their time with us, we will soon be shifting our focus onto Year 10. I'd like to draw Year 10 parents' attention to our Information Evening at 18:00 on Thursday 20th Year. In this presentation, I'll be talking about what we will be doing to make sure the year group have the best possible chance of success, and sharing some of the ways you can support this from home. Details have been sent today to Year 10 parents, and I hope to see as many of you there as possible.

With best wishes,

Mr Farmbrough

Headteacher
