Holmleigh Park High School

Letter from the Head – Friday 7th June 2024

In this issue: Year 11 and Year 13 exams, Year 6 transition visits, and Matilda rehearsal updates.

Dear HP families,

Our Year 11 and Year 13 students have continued their exams with great dedication and full effort. It is inspiring to see the commitment and hard work they put into their studies during this critical period. Their perseverance and focus are commendable, and we are confident that these efforts will be reflected in their results. It is always a demanding time for our students, and we are incredibly proud of how they are managing their responsibilities and showcasing their academic abilities. They are proving to be excellent role models to our students who will go through the same experience in future years. Our Year 11 and Year 13 leadership teams are in the midst of final plans for Prom and Leavers events, so that our exam students both get a well-deserved celebration but also the opportunity to mark the moving on to the next stage of their lives.

Meanwhile, our Year 6 transition visits to our feeder primary schools are well underway. These visits are an integral part of our transition program, aimed at easing the move from primary to secondary education. The visits have all been very positive and helpful, and we are delighted to see the enthusiasm of our future students. We are eagerly looking forward to welcoming them to HP during the induction program in July, where they will get a more comprehensive introduction to our environment and community. This is always an exciting time of the year when we see the next cohort of HP students begin the very start of their journey with us.

Today saw the full cast rehearsal of our upcoming production of Matilda. The talent and enthusiasm of our students have been truly impressive, and the excitement is building as we approach the performance dates. Tickets for the show are now available for purchase on MCAS. I encourage families to attend and support our students as they bring an extremely entertaining story to life on stage. It promises to be an outstanding showcase of their artistic abilities and hard work.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement. Your involvement is vital to our success and greatly appreciated.

I wish you all a lovely weekend,

Mr Hudson
