LETTER FROM THE HEAD - FRIDAY 6TH JANUARY 2022

In this issue: Excellent start to the new term, Parents Evenings and Y9 & Y12 assessments

Dear all,

I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable festive time with your families and I wish you all a happy new year as we start 2023. It has been brilliant to welcome all of our students back into school this week after the Christmas holidays. It feels like we have really hit the ground running and we are looking forward to seeing everyone working very hard throughout the next term. We continue to build our extracurricular provision and opportunities. It has been exciting to see after-school clubs start back up with our Year 11 students enjoying their enrichment sessions this afternoon.

We have a busy few weeks coming up, including a number of Parents Evenings:

  • Thurs 12th Jan - Year 8
  • Thurs 26th Jan - Year 7
  • Thurs 2nd Feb - Year 13
  • Thurs 9th Feb - Year 9 [including Options Evening]

Our Year 11 Parents Evening in December, our first face-to-face event for three years, was a great success and we are so pleased to be able to welcome you all back into the school again. When the appointment window opens for your child, you will be able to book appointments via Edulink. We hope to see as many of you there as possible, so that we can talk to you about how your children are progressing. All of us working together to support them is crucial.

Wednesday saw the start of exams for our Year 12 students and this coming Monday our Year 9 students begin their Rank Order Assessments. We know that each year group’s assessment windows provide them and their teachers with such vital information about their next steps to improve further. Best wishes to both year groups over the next two weeks and we look forward to seeing the fruits of their labour when they get their assessment results.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend,

Mr Hudson
Head of School
