Letter from the Head – Friday 28th June 2024
In this issue: Trips, Year 13 Leavers and Year 11 Prom
Dear HP families,
I hope this letter finds you well. This past week has been exceptionally busy and rewarding for our students, with numerous events and activities showcasing their talents and hard work. I am pleased to share some highlights and important reminders with you.
Firstly, I’d like to extend congratulations to our Year 7 and 8 students who participated in the Greenshaw cricket tournament on Monday. It was a very successful event, and our teams demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and skill.
Our Geography students have had an exciting week with five trips organised for Year 10s and 12s. These trips provided valuable hands-on learning experiences. Additionally, our Year 12 students attended a UCAS event in Birmingham, helping them prepare for their future academic endeavours.
Wednesday saw our Year 13 Leavers Afternoon, which was well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by students and staff alike. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their time with us and wish them well as they move on to new adventures.
Last night, we hosted the Year 11 Prom at Bowden Hall. Our students represented HP with pride and elegance, making the evening a memorable one for all attendees. We congratulate all of our Year 11 and 13 students for their hard work and look forward to celebrating their results with them in August.
Our Year 10 Information Evening yesterday was another successful event, with excellent attendance. As these students begin their Period 0, 5.1, and 6 program, they are taking significant steps in their GCSE journey.
A reminder that on the last day of Activities Week, Friday 12th July, all students will finish at 1pm. Additionally, maintaining an attendance rate of 95% or higher is crucial for students to fully enjoy and succeed during their time at HP.
I wish you all a lovely weekend,
Mr Hudson
Headteacher
