Letter from the Head – Friday 27th June 2025
In this issue: Launch of HP Enrichment, next week’s Summer Charity Week, a competition win for Year 7, a reminder on blazers and our weekly attendance update.
Dear HP families,
Firstly, I’m incredibly proud to announce the launch of HP Enrichment; our exciting new programme that will become a core part of every student’s experience from September 2025. From next academic year, all students will take part in a weekly extracurricular club, built directly into the timetable every Wednesday afternoon from 1:40pm to 3:00pm. This is not a one-off initiative or an optional extra. It’s a bold step forward in our mission to provide extraordinary opportunities for every student, every week.
Whether it’s sport, STEM, creative arts, performance or leadership, HP Enrichment offers something to engage, inspire and challenge every student. The programme reflects one of our core drivers, Opportunities, and supports our wider aim to help students achieve excellent outcomes and ambitious future destinations. An introduction video is live on our website. I strongly encourage families to take a look together and talk through the range of clubs available.
Looking ahead to next week, I’d like to highlight HP’s Summer Charity Week, which runs from Monday 30th June to Thursday 4th July. This is always a fantastic week of community spirit and generosity, and I’d like to thank the Student Council who are leading the organisation this year. We’ll be raising money for our four House Charities: The Spring Centre, Gloucester Nightstop, James Hopkins Trust and The Family Haven. The council would love everyone to get involved by baking, donating and taking part in events across the week. All funds raised will go directly to these brilliant local causes.
Congratulations also go to two of our Year 7 students, Hugo and Theo, who came third out of all the GLT schools in the ‘Design a Menu’ competition. Their tacos entry was served in the canteen this week, and went down extremely well. Well done to both boys for their creativity and teamwork.
With the weather continuing to be warm, blazers are fully optional until the end of term. Students should continue to wear the rest of their uniform smartly and with pride.
I wish you all a lovely weekend,
Mr Hudson
