HP Families Weekly Bulletin - Friday 6th February 2026
In this bulletin: We provide updates on student assessments, a focus on foundational homework, our anti bullying protocols, the upcoming production of Return to the Forbidden Planet, and Morocco 2027 fundraising events.
Dear HP families,
It is encouraging to enter February as the mornings and evenings begin to lighten. Year 11 students will receive their mock exam results next week, followed by their Parents Evening on Thursday. This evening represents a vital opportunity for parents and students to receive specific feedback. Year 12 have completed their mock exams this week and will shortly receive feedback from their teachers. Within KS3, we have recently amended our homework requirements to prioritise Sparx Reader and the Times Table Rock Star challenge. It is crucial that all KS3 students are as fluent as possible in their foundational literacy and numeracy skills, so I ask that you reinforce the importance of these platforms at home.
Tackling Bullying Together Unfortunately, young people can occasionally be deliberately unkind to one another. When such incidents occur, we require students and families to understand the exact process HP follows to address the situation. Please review our newly updated anti-bullying webpage at https://www.hphigh.co.uk/school/anti-bullying which explains our procedures in detail. Please contact s.diaco@hphigh.co.uk with any specific questions.
HP Production The award-winning musical Return to the Forbidden Planet will be performed by our students from Wednesday 25th to Friday 27th February. The production will be staged in the HP theatre with performances beginning at 7.00pm each evening. Tickets are available through www.yourboxoffice.co.uk by searching for the show title. Prices are £8 for adults and £5 for concessions. Seating is numbered this year, allowing you to select your preferred location. We invite you to join Captain Tempest and his crew for a performance featuring rock and roll hits such as Great Balls of Fire and Good Vibrations. Please contact s.conway@hphigh.co.uk for further information.
Morocco 2027 Fundraising To support the HP expedition to Morocco in July 2027, students can purchase Valentine’s Day gifts in the sports hall at break and lunch on Wednesday 11th, Thursday 12th, and Friday 13th February. Available items include bags of pick and mix for £3, handmade crochet hearts for £3, and chocolate bars for £1. These prices include delivery, which will take place during DEAR time on Friday. We accept cash or card. While change is available, we encourage students to bring the correct amount. Students using phones for card payments must ensure devices are turned off and replaced in bags immediately after the transaction. The profits will support students from HP and the Greenshaw Learning Trust as they spend 16 days in Morocco, engaging in community work and climbing Mount M’Goun. Please contact d.hipwell@hphigh.co.uk with any enquiries.
I wish you all a lovely weekend,
Mr Hudson
