HP Families Weekly Bulletin - Friday 5th June 2026
In this bulletin: We share an update on our work to strengthen SEND provision and parental partnership, provide important information about Year 10 mock examinations, confirm uniform arrangements from September 2026, remind families about Term 6 uniform expectations, outline upcoming parking changes at The Pike & Musket.
Dear HP families,
A priority for us remains developing our SEND provision and the way we work in partnership with our families. To support this work, we are beginning the process of achieving the Leading Parent Partnership Award and SEND Inclusion Award. This will be a 12 month process and undertaking it will enable us to reflect on our current strengths, identify our next areas for development and work alongside all stakeholders to continue improving our provision. Families will shortly receive an online stakeholder questionnaire and we would welcome as many responses as possible to help us launch this important project.
Year 10 Mock Exams Begin Next Week
Year 10 mock examinations begin next week and we ask families to ensure students are fully prepared, attend all scheduled 8.00am pre exam warm up sessions and complete their personalised revision timetables. We have been delighted with the successful launch of Champions Hour and encourage students to continue making the most of this valuable after school revision support. If you have any questions, please contact c.adams@hphigh.co.uk.
Uniform Update for September 2026
Thank you to all families who took part in our recent uniform consultation. We can now confirm that the three mandatory branded uniform items from September 2026 will be the HP blazer, HP long sleeve PE top, consisting of the rugby shirt for boys and long sleeve PE top for girls, and the HP short sleeve PE polo shirt. The HP tie will also remain mandatory, although ties do not count towards the Government's three item limit. Other branded uniform and PE items will continue to be available to purchase but will be optional. We will shortly share photographic guidance showing the appearance required for non branded uniform and PE kit items.
Term 6 Uniform Reminder
There have been a number of students choosing to wear plain black tailored knee length shorts this week and looking very smart whilst doing so. A reminder that white socks are not permitted and students must wear black socks only. During Term 6, students may choose whether to wear a blazer or jumper. However, shirts must remain tucked in fully during lessons and lesson transitions. Visitors regularly comment on the smart appearance of our students and we greatly appreciate your continued support in reinforcing the importance of these high standards.
Parking Update: The Pike & Musket
The Pike & Musket has informed us that it will soon be introducing an Automatic Number Plate Recognition parking system in its car park. This follows ongoing issues with the car park being used by non customers, affecting access for pub customers, staff and delivery drivers. Once introduced, parking terms will be monitored and enforced for unauthorised users. Parents and carers are therefore asked not to use The Pike & Musket car park for student drop off or collection and to make alternative arrangements. The pub has confirmed that genuine customers will continue to be able to park free of charge by registering their vehicle details inside the premises. Thank you for your cooperation.
I wish you all a lovely weekend,
Mr Hudson
