Food menu and canteen building works
Our building contractors have been working hard on our new canteen over the summer holidays. It looks absolutely fantastic and we look forward to being able to use it in a fortnight’s time. Until the building work is completed and the handover has occurred, our kitchen staff will remain extremely limited in the menu they are able to produce. Therefore, for the next fortnight we will remain with the sandwiches and snacks menu that we were working with at the end of the summer term. We are really looking forward to being able to move into our new canteen and it will really improve the break and lunch experience for all students.
Whole school focus on attendance
Per my Letter from the Head on Friday 21st June, our whole school priority in 2024-25 will be increasing the awareness of the importance of all Holmleigh Park students regularly attending school. I spoke to all Year 7 to 10 students earlier in the summer during an assembly which was focused on the theme "You have to be ‘here’ to get ‘there’." I emphasised the importance of regular attendance, always aiming for at least 95%, notwithstanding exceptional circumstances, and reinforced to students that regular attendance allows them to aim for their personal goals, whether academic or extracurricular. I want all families to be aware that from September we will be reworking our rewards offer to put regular attendance at the heart of them. There will be more details to follow about this over the coming days.
Yours sincerely,
Dan Hudson
