Holmleigh Park High School

New Head of School

An update on our new Head of School

Dear all,

Earlier in the year I wrote to you with the news that we would be appointing a new Head of School to work alongside me in leading Holmleigh Park. This reflects the fact that Holmleigh Park has expanded rapidly since 2019, and is on track to become the largest school in Gloucester in September 2024, and that I have been asked to spend more time next year working directly for the Greenshaw Learning Trust, supporting other Headteachers across our family of schools.

Following a very thorough process, I am delighted to inform you that Dan Hudson has been appointed as Head of School from September. Mr Hudson is currently Senior Vice Principal at Nova Hreod Academy, a highly successful school in Swindon. He has previously worked as a Senior Leader at Oasis John Williams in Bristol, and before that at St Peter’s High School, Gloucester, and has also presented at national education conferences.

Mr Hudson will be managing the school’s day to day operations, overseeing all aspects of teaching, learning and behaviour, and so will be in regular touch with you as parents. His wealth of experience of working in several excellent leadership teams will be hugely beneficial in ensuring that Holmleigh Park maintains the highest of standards and keeps improving every single year.

I will remain as Headteacher and will still be based at Holmleigh Park for the majority of each week. I will be working very closely with Mr Hudson, while also focusing on Holmleigh Park’s future direction and strategy as we continue our journey to become one of the highest performing schools in the UK.

I look forward to introducing Mr Hudson to you in September, and to continuing our improvement journey.

Best wishes,

Mr Farmbrough

Headteacher
