Holmleigh Park Students Celebrate GCSE Success and Exciting Futures

Students at Holmleigh Park are today celebrating their GCSE results, marking the next step in their exciting futures. Across the year group, students have achieved personal success through living out the school’s values of taking responsibility and working hard. Many are now moving on to ambitious next steps, with a large number choosing to continue their studies at Holmleigh Park Sixth Form.

Student Stories

Davion Mitchell achieved an outstanding set of results, including two grade 9s, four grade 8s and a Distinction*. He said: “I’m most pleased with History because I worked so hard for it, but I also wasn’t expecting to do that well in English.” Davion will now stay on at Holmleigh Park Sixth Form to study Maths, Further Maths and either Physics or History.

Dan Jones was delighted with his results, which included five grade 8s. He said: “I’m most pleased with my Science grades and I'm looking forward to joining the Sixth Form.” Dan will be taking A Levels in Maths, Biology and Environmental Science.

Casey-May James achieved 8s in Maths and Science alongside a Distinction in Health & Social Care. She will continue her studies at Holmleigh Park Sixth Form, taking Maths, Chemistry and Biology with the ambition of attending university to study medicine and becoming a Paediatric Doctor.

Dan Hudson, Headteacher, said:
“I am incredibly proud of our students today. They have shown determination, resilience and commitment, and today’s results reflect the hard work they have put in. What excites me most is seeing so many of them continuing their journeys with us at Holmleigh Park Sixth Form, where they will be brilliantly placed to achieve even greater success in the years ahead.”

These results come on the back of an excellent set of Holmleigh Park Sixth Form results last week, where half of all A Level grades were awarded A* to B. To sign up for the HP Sixth Form, please email Catherine Marsden-Green, Head of Sixth Form, at c.m-g@hphigh.co.uk.
