Dear Parents / Carers

Welcome to my first Headteacher’s Bulletin. A number of parents who attended our consultation meetings last term noted that they would like to be kept well informed of developments for Holmleigh Park High School at this exciting time. I am therefore committing to write to you regularly to ensure that you feel fully up to date with what is happening.

It has been a really successful first week of term. We have launched our work to achieve 100% disruption free learning in classrooms. This is having such a positive effect and really enabling children to get on with their learning in lessons. We are also embedding our expectations for extremely high standards for uniform, ensuring students look their very best at all times. I would like to thank you for your support in ensuring your children come to school smartly dressed, in the correct uniform, fully equipped and with a great attitude to learning.

Our tutor time reading programme has started this week. Your children now enjoy guided reading, across a range of high quality and high challenge texts every morning. We anticipate this having a significant, and rapid, effect on literacy levels and vocabulary.

I would like to invite you to a Meet the Head evening on Wednesday 12 June, 6.00pm – 7.00pm, where I will share with you the improvements being made. I will also be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the strategic direction of the school, current policies and future plans, however, please could I request questions are not related to individual children as we are available in school every day to answer these.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support so far, and for welcoming me into your community. I am looking forward to working with you over the coming weeks and months to make Holmleigh Park High School brilliant. Please remember that if you would like to visit at any time to see the work we are doing you are welcome to come for a tour. Every day is an Open Day!
