Holmleigh Park High School

Letter from the Head, 4th October 2019

Dear parents and carers,

We have had another very enjoyable week at Holmleigh Park High School, with more fantastic work in class, and some great work in netball, rugby and football. We also welcomed a number of visitors: a conference for 100 early help workers, and several local primary and secondary headteachers. The message from everyone was the same; they couldn’t believe how much the school has improved. If you’d like to come and see for yourself, please remember that every day is an Open Day at Holmleigh Park – we’d be happy to show you round any time you’d like to drop in and visit.

Following Mr O’Gallagher’s message about Free Schools on Wednesday, I’m very grateful to everyone who has taken advantage of the new system. After only two days, a number of families who were not previously received funding have now started to receive Free School meals. I strongly encourage you to enter your details, even if you do not believe you are eligible; it takes two minutes and will automatically be checked for you every term. You can find more details here or apply and receive an instant response here

We continue to move forward with simplifying our communications, and have streamlined our social media presence. Following the feedback in my survey at the start of the year, we’ve merged most of our accounts into a single Instagram feed, @holmleighpark. This will cover all things Holmleigh Park – sports, music, drama, lessons, events and so on. For those of you who prefer Facebook, all photos posted on this account will be copied through to Facebook.

However, please note that we will not be using social media for general communication; important messages and letters will only ever come via email. Similarly, if you need to contact us, we won’t be actively checking social media; please use [email protected]. This is so that we can monitor a single point of communication and make sure that we pick up messages more quickly.

Best wishes,

Patrick Farmbrough
