Holmleigh Park High School

Letter from the Head, 28th June 2019

28 June 2019

Dear Parents / Guardians

Another busy week at HP High School and I am delighted to say that we have had our first days this week with no Fixed Term Exclusions. Behaviour continues to improve daily and the difference in the classrooms is remarkable.

I am looking forward to welcoming a number of visitors next week. Patrick Farmbrough will be in school on Wednesday and Thursday to meet with staff and students. Patrick will be taking over the Headship of the school from September and will be holding ‘Meet the Head’ evenings at the start of term. We are also welcoming a record number of Year 6 students for their induction days, and our sixth form induction is the following week.

We have had some great sporting success this week with a number of first places and two school records broken at the Gloucester Athletics, and more to come hopefully at Sports Day on Tuesday. Don’t forget plenty of sun-cream if the weather stays warm!  We also had a very successful Geography field trip – well done to all the staff and students involved.

You should have all now received a letter regarding collection of uniform from Trutex in Gloucester in August. It is going to be fantastic seeing students arrive in September all kitted out in the brand new uniform. There will also be a brand new sports kit available, although we are happy for students to continue wearing the old kit for as long as it lasts.

I hope you have a great weekend and enjoy the sunshine!

With warm regards

Ben Parnell
