HP Families Weekly Bulletin - Friday 6th November 2026
In this bulletin: We share opportunities to visit HP, celebrate our inaugural Creative Writer Award winner, remind families to complete the parent survey and provide updates on trips, Christmas discos and homework.
Dear HP families,
Update From The Headteacher, Mr Hudson
Our Year 6 Tours have now concluded and were once again exceptionally popular. Existing HP families can also book an HP In Action Tour with the Headteacher. These take place every Wednesday at 10:00am and offer an opportunity to observe lessons and see teaching and learning first-hand, explore our facilities and learning environment, and speak directly with me about our vision, values and how we support students. You can book a tour here.
I would also like to congratulate Eloise Medd, HP’s inaugural Creative Writer Award winner. The award has been established in honour of Phoebe Symons. Eloise wrote an incredibly moving poem entitled Becoming and will receive her award at an upcoming Year 12 assembly. The standard of entries was exceptionally high. Congratulations also to our honourable mentions: Martina Gospodinov (Key Stage 5) for One More Time, Rebecca Green (Key Stage 4) for Where The Marigolds Lead and Otera Maharjan (Key Stage 3).
Finally, I would encourage all families to complete our parent survey. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us continue to improve HP. The introduction of positive telephone calls from tutors to every child’s family was a direct result of last year’s survey. The survey takes around five minutes to complete and must be completed in one sitting for your responses to be saved. Once you click ‘Finish survey’, your responses cannot be edited. Please complete it by Friday 20th November.
Key Stage 3 Year Group Trips: Families of students in Key Stage 3 will have received a letter on Monday outlining another fantastic opportunity for students to take part in a trip. These visits have been fully funded by HP to ensure that all students can extend their learning beyond the classroom and experience something new. Thank you to everyone who has already signed their child up. If you have not yet done so, the deadline is 10th December. If you have any questions, please contact a.sharples@hphigh.co.uk.
Key Stage 3 Christmas Discos: Please save the dates for our popular Christmas discos, which will be returning this year. The Year 7 disco will take place on Thursday 10th December, followed by the Year 8 and Year 9 disco on Friday 11th December. Further information about timings and tickets will follow. If you have any questions, please contact k.barrett@hphigh.co.uk.
Homework Reminder: Sparx Reader has changed days and is due by 7:30am on Monday next week. Year 8 and Year 9 ROA revision homework was issued to students today. Students who do not have a copy should speak to their Head of Year as soon as possible on Monday. The first homework task is due on Tuesday. If you have any questions, please contact k.barrett@hphigh.co.uk.
I wish you all a lovely weekend,
Mr Hudson
