Dear HP families,

Update From The Headteacher, Mr Hudson: Attendance continues to improve year on year, which is really pleasing and testament to the ever improving culture we have around being Here Every Day. There has been lots of talk across HP about House Points and Golden Tickets, and you have got to be here to earn them! Ultimately, habits are hard to break, so having the odd day off in September can make it harder to establish good attendance habits. This is why gaining the September Streak Awards for consecutive days of attendance over the next couple of weeks is so important. Please continue to support your child to be here every day and on time.

Green Flag with Distinction: I am delighted to share that HP has been awarded the Green Flag with Distinction for our eco initiatives during 2025/26. Olivia, Luke and Theo, three of our Sixth Form Environmental Scientists, are pictured in front of our Community, Charity and Eco notice boards. They are all members of the Eco Enrichment group and have supported other students to achieve this award for our HP community. The new Green Flag is now displayed on our Eco presentation board. As part of this work, students planted 200 native saplings on site. This year, our projects will include a collaboration between Eco Enrichment students and the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust. A huge thank you to Mrs Kingston for all her work leading this project.

HP Art and Creative Writing Competitions: On Monday, we will launch our HP Art and Creative Writing competitions in memory of Riley and Phoebe, two HP students who incredibly sadly passed away in 2025. We have worked closely with Riley and Phoebe’s families to establish annual events in their names that remember their contributions to HP while also providing fantastic opportunities for future students in the areas they were passionate about.

KS4 Bulletin: This week’s KS4 Bulletin from Mrs Adams includes information about Previewing The Road to Prom: Entry Requirements for Year 11 students, as well as the importance of resilience and making every day count from the start of Year 10. Please read this if your child is in Year 10 or Year 11.

Gloucestershire Music: Does your child play a musical instrument or love to sing? Do they want to learn to play an instrument or sing at HP? Would you like to find out about the wide range of local music groups available for musicians of all abilities? There is something for everyone. Visit Gloucestershire Music for more information.

Musical Instruments Needed: Do you have a musical instrument gathering dust in your attic that you do not know what to do with? The HP Music Department would be very grateful for donations of working instruments. We are particularly looking for working drum kits and guitars, which do not need to be in perfect condition.
