HP Families Weekly Bulletin - Friday 19th June 2026

In this bulletin: We share an update on our work to strengthen parent partnership and inclusion, say goodbye to our Year 11 and Year 13 students, introduce the Greenshaw Learning Trust Online Safety Hub, remind families about the legal position regarding e scooters, provide an important Free School Meals update, and share details of our FACE membership benefits.

Dear HP families,

A priority for us remains developing our inclusion provision and the way we work in partnership with our families. To support this work, we are beginning the process of achieving the Leading Parent Partnership and Inclusion Awards. This will be a 12 month process and undertaking it will enable us to reflect on our current strengths, identify our next areas for development and work alongside all stakeholders to continue improving our provision. So far, we have received only 28 responses to our parent questionnaire. We are keen to hear the views of as many families as possible and will therefore resend the questionnaire by email so that your voice can help shape our next steps. I am also looking for a small but committed group of parents who would like to become involved in our working group as we progress these priorities. If you are interested, please email l.hughes@hphigh.co.uk.

This week has also been a poignant one as we said goodbye to our Year 11 and Year 13 students. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and look forward to hearing about their future successes. Our Year 13 cohort holds a special place in the history of HP as they were the first ever Year 7 cohort and the first students to wear the HP uniform. Both year groups have worked exceptionally hard, shown tremendous resilience and approached their examinations with maturity and determination. It has also been wonderful to hear so many students expressing their appreciation to staff for the support and commitment shown throughout their time at HP.

Greenshaw Learning Trust Online Safety Hub

We are delighted to share a valuable resource to help families navigate the ever changing digital world. As part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust family, HP families have exclusive access to the Greenshaw Learning Trust Online Safety Hub. The Hub provides expert guidance on the latest apps and games, practical advice on parental controls and online safety settings, articles and videos from leading online safety specialists, and helpful conversation starters to support positive discussions about children's digital lives. We strongly encourage all families to explore the resource at https://greenshawlearningtrust.onlinesafetyhub.uk/.

E Scooters

There is currently a significant Police crackdown across Gloucester relating to the use of e scooters by children and young people. E scooters remain illegal to use on public roads, pavements and other public spaces unless they form part of an authorised rental scheme. We would appreciate families reinforcing this message at home to help keep students safe and compliant with the law.

Free School Meals

If your child currently receives Free School Meals, Government transitional protection arrangements will end at the conclusion of this academic year. To ensure eligibility is confirmed for September 2026, families must complete the following application form: https://apply.cloudforedu.org.uk/ofsm/sims-greenshawlearningtrust. If you believe your circumstances have changed and you may now be eligible, we would encourage you to submit an application.

FACE Membership

HP is a member of FACE, which provides practical advice, information and support for families across a wide range of topics, including supporting neurodiverse children, understanding emotions and managing behaviour. Families can access FACE Parent Talks free of charge using the HP access code HP160626. This code can be used by any HP parent or member of staff for unlimited access to all regular FACE Parent Talks, which would normally cost £24 per session. To access the talks, please visit the link and use the code shared in the email version of this bulletin.

I wish you all a lovely weekend,

Mr Hudson
