HP Families Weekly Bulletin: Friday 8th May 2026
In this bulletin: We share an update on GCSE and A Level examinations, a consultation on proposed changes to uniform, a proposed adjustment to summer uniform options, a memorial fundraising initiative, and a good luck message to our Ten Tors participants.
Dear HP families,
At HP we know that exam results open doors and keep doors open, and we are now at the start of GCSE and A Level exams. We wish all of our students the very best of luck as we will be with them every step of the way with our exam timetable that maximises time with their teachers. Year 11’s attitude, resilience and focus throughout the year has been excellent and the recent Year 13 mock exam data shows they are on track to achieve some excellent grades. We are also working hard to set up Year 10 for our most productive summer mock exam series we have ever had so that they hit the ground running in September.
School Uniform
From September, the Government is mandating that schools can only have three branded uniform items. This is intended to reduce costs for families. We are proposing that our three main HP branded items will be an HP blazer, HP long sleeve PE top and HP short sleeve PE top. For other items we will specify a plain requirement, for example a plain blue v neck jumper, which can be purchased from any retailer. We welcome feedback on these proposals and ask families to complete the following form: https://forms.gle/hWZECTBiuFr11Zps8
Summer Uniform
For the summer term we are proposing that boys may wear plain black tailored knee length shorts with black socks and standard school shoes. Girls will continue to have the option to wear the HP skirt. We will confirm finalised arrangements following parent consultation through the Google Form.
Riley Davies Memorial Fundraising
Family and friends of Riley Davies are taking part in the Cheltenham Running Festival on Sunday 14th June. In collaboration with Riley’s family, we will be launching an HP Artist of the Year bursary award in Riley’s memory. The family are using the Cheltenham Running Festival to raise funds towards this bursary and have already raised over £1300. You can donate here.
Ten Tors Challenge
Good luck to our Ten Tors students taking on an excellent and demanding challenge this weekend. I look forward to sharing how they have got on in next week’s bulletin.
I wish you all a lovely weekend,
Mr Hudson
