HP Families Weekly Bulletin – Friday 30th January 2026
In this bulletin: information about Year 7 to 9 trips, an upcoming Year 10 IT coursework deadline, a Year 11 charity bake sale, and details of the February show.
Dear HP families,
Update From The Headteacher, Mr Hudson
Today is the first issue of the HP Families Weekly Bulletin, which replaces the previous Letter From The Head. As mentioned in my letter last week, we have reviewed how we communicate with families and would like to reduce the number of emails and MCAS messages that you receive. By bringing key messages together in a single weekly bulletin, we aim to make it easier for you to keep track of important information and to provide a clear reference point to return to. When we carry out our Parent and Carer Survey in the Spring, we will ask for your feedback on the success of this approach.
Year 7 to 9 Year Group Trips
Thank you to all Year 8 and Year 9 families who have already signed their child up for the upcoming year group trips taking place in March and April, which provide valuable opportunities for learning beyond the classroom. For families who are yet to do so, please ensure you provide consent via MCAS. These trips are free and fully funded for the whole year group, however we do require your permission for your child to attend. Our Year 7 students will also soon be visiting We the Curious for their year group trip, which we are very much looking forward to. For further details, please contact a.sharples@hphigh.co.uk.
Year 10 IT Coursework
The first Year 10 IT coursework deadline is approaching, with R060 Spreadsheets due on Friday 13th February. We would appreciate your support in ensuring that your son or daughter completes and submits their coursework by this date. For any specific support, please contact g.tanner@hphigh.co.uk.
Upcoming Bake Sale
Friday 7th February marks the first anniversary of the death of one of our students, Phoebe S, and Year 11 students would like to do something positive in her memory. A bake sale will be held on Friday 6th February, with all money raised going to Phoebe’s Place, a charity being set up by her family to support young people with mental and physical health needs and to promote better care so that teenagers are not dismissed or misdiagnosed. We would welcome cake donations from families who enjoy baking, and we also encourage students to bring money on the day to support this cause. For more information, please contact t.furleger@hphigh.co.uk.
School Show in February
Join Captain Tempest and his fearless crew on their journey into hyperspace and beyond as HP presents the Olivier Award winning Best Musical Return to the Forbidden Planet on 25th, 26th and 27th February. The show features a range of well known rock and roll hits including Great Balls of Fire, Good Vibrations, Teenager in Love, The Young Ones and The Monster Mash. Tickets can be booked via www.yourboxoffice.co.uk by searching for Holmleigh Park School. For further details, please contact s.conway@hphigh.co.uk.
I wish you all a lovely weekend,
Mr Hudson
